Meet one of Somerset Pediatric Groups newest Physicians; Dr. Shruti Ramesh. We are so excited to have her join the SPG family. Dr. Ramesh will most frequently be in our new Springfield location but be sure to say hello if you see her at any of our locations!
Julia Higashio, DNP, CPNP, is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She earned Bachelor's degrees in both Genetics and East Asian Studies from Rutgers University, and worked in genetics research for 4 years before becoming a nurse. She earned her Bachelor's degree in nursing from Rutgers and worked for 5 years as a pediatric/adolescent nurse at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and at Bristol Meyer's Squibb Children's Hospital before going back to school to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Rutgers School of Nursing in 2019.
As part of her course of study, she completed specialized training in both pediatric hematology/oncology and medical genetics, and completed a research project on the use of virtual reality to decrease pain and anxiety during vaccinations. Outside of the office, Julia loves spending time with her three energetic boys and attending Rutgers football games.
